CV Writing Skills Workshop

An informative workshop in which students get the opportunity to build their own CV on computers or paper. This power point based activity explains the reasons for requiring a CV, discusses content, offers students examples and allows them time to develop their own CV with support and guidance.

This workshop can stand alone, be combined with the Covering Letter workshop or form part of a carousel of workshops during a Key Skills day. It can also form an element of an Employability Day.

Aims & Objectives:

By the end of the lesson the student will have written their CV and have the knowledge to add and adapt it as their school and working life progresses.  It also develops the following skills:

 

  •  Identify and record employability skills & to understand a CV is a working document

  • ·Effective planning for the future in education and work

Key Information

 

  • Years: 9, 10 or 11

  • Numbers: 1 tutor group per session

  • Time: 1 - 2 periods

  • Rooming: Classroom / computer room
