Careers Speed Networking - A Guide for Volunteers

Careers Speed Networking is a really important day in the careers calendar of a school.  It provides students with the ability to learn about a wide range of different job roles, many of which they might never have learnt about before.

You do not have to prepare in advance - however, it always helps if you can bring some props relating to your work.  Students find it very useful to see items that you use in your work - it could be PPE, a show reel, brochures or photos.

Key Information

  • Role: Talking to students about your career and job role

  • Time commitment: 2 - 4 hours

  • Preparation: Students love to see "props" relating to your job

  • Age group of students: Secondary: 13 - 16 /  Primary: 9 - 11

  • Number of students:  From a tutor group to a year group

  • Briefing: On the day or at your workplace
